Out Past Dark

We were out on country roads in the dark tonight. First we went to feed the cow in the pen. As soon as we drove up she came to meet John. Later when we went to his daughter's she said she had fed the cow twice today. That means she got three square meals today plus the hay that is available all time. John's ex-wife and I had to joke about how she will probably continue to play sick. John got Direct TV today and already he doesn't like it. He didn't like the Dish TV either and wasn't happy with cable. That is the reason we went to his daughter's he wants her to try to get him out of that contract. That man has to get a hobby I tell you. Some one recently suggested here he needs to plant a garden but that won't cut it. He used to raise vegetables to sell and ship. Nope he has been there and done that in a large way. He doesn't bowl, he won't dance anymore, he doesn't like to smell fish, he can't read much with the condition of his eyes. He could wash all his vehicles, he could clean out the shed, he could sweep the cobwebs down from the garage ceiling. Thank goodness for Thursday afternoons he plays dominoes. Don't suggest a vacation because his idea of a vacation is going to one of his relatives house. Mine is going to a motel with a swimming pool, hot tub, eating out, seeing things, and sleeping. Oh well! On the way home two deer got caught in our head lights. Poor things couldn't see where to jump the fence so I just slowed down to watch them.

lol Too funny! Gary likes to go on vacation but the idea of fun for him is driving down the road looking at the scenery! Does not want to stop for anything!! Paula you and I need to take a vacation without John and Gary!! haha
Glad that the cow is doing good. It does not take long for them to learn. No near as dumb as we think. lol Janie

We stay at home so much that I don't even like being out after dark. I had to drive and show the lady the way back to the main road Tues night after she brought my daughter here after her surgery. They came in a different way than I showed her how to go. Seemed strange driving after dark. No way could Ken even see how to drive after dark. Glad the cow is doing better. She should get her strengh back quickly after all those good feedings. Helen

Well I beat Sherry here this morning. Good entry. I like the stories you make up. Girls are like that. WE are so good, loving, understnding, cheerful, agreeable, etc y'all have to make up something. LOL ok RLOL.
YOu don't like to drive around graveyards at night with the lights off do you?
That was one of Sherry's tricks, for enjoyment while I was gone once I heard.
It was nice of you to slow down and give the deer a chance to move without exciting them more.
Always love your entries. (note to Sherry, beat you)

Cliff is a stick-in-the-mud about going anywhere, except on the motorcycle. That's the best thing about the motorcycle! It's worth the risk involved, just to get him out of the house once in awhile.

John sounds like my husband who does no have any interests or hobbies either and is always complaining that there is "nothing on tv".

Get John an old car to restore preferably a
Studebaker. He can visit some assisted living
homes and make them happy. If these ro not
work I can suggest some more.

Maybe you should take away his remote control and that will give him something to do, LOL.

I think you just about covered all hobbies, so I have nothing to suggest. Don't pick golf, people like to steal clubs...ha. Loved the poem. Take care, Sheila

Well I sure do not know why John does not like Direct TV, whats left for him to choose? That is one lucky cow to get 3 meals! I do not think visiting relatives is a vacation its more like a duty...LOL I agree with your idea of vacation, maybe you can compromise. Have a good day!
