Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Violence In Our Town
Yesterday we went to a business across town. When we arrived and got out of the truck there was very loud music coming from a vacant lot catty cornered across the street. Then we noticed there was one couple dancing on the parking lot. John made the remark do you think they would mind if we use their music to dance? We had a good laugh but before we left we weren't laughing. We were sitting with other people in front of a large plate glass window with a good view of the parking lot and street. A truck pulled up beside the curb and a couple got out. We couldn't believe our eyes when the man knocked the woman to the ground. Pulled her back up and pushed her into the truck. For a few seconds everyone was dumbfounded. Finally a man ran out side with his cell phone and called police. Within seconds there was a sheriff's deputy there driving around the business. One customer ran outside to point out across the street where the man and woman was. Within minutes four more city policemen arrived and then an ambulance. The man was taken off in handcuffs and the woman and the ambulance was still there when we left. Our small town is not the same as it once was but we seldom see this type violence. At least we were glad to see such good response from the police.

I don't think I have ever heard you describe such an act of violence in your country. This sort of thing is quite common place in the city, in fact right on our floor as a matter of fact with a violent couple beating each other up, but no, no in Texas, well, at least she did not get killed. Gerry
I notice more and more domestic violence cases in our weekly newspaper's police report section each week. The world is turning, and not for the better I'm afraid. Sad story.
Hugs, Joyce
So sorry to hear about this incident... that would be very upsetting. Yes this world is not the same anymore.

I am so glad the police responded quickly and very sorry you had to witness that. The violence every where nowadays just makes me sad.
Yikes! I'm at least glad the police responded so quickly and took him away. I hope she didn't go bail him out - that's the way it usually goes. It's crazy!

Things are really getting bad. Must have been the woman of the guy who knocked her against the truck.. anyway he thought she was his woman!! With people loosing their jobs and etc. I fear that things are going to get much worse. Glad that you and John was out of sight when that happened. Just never know what people will do this day of age. Our little town is pretty quiet too but Wichita is another story! Hope you and John have a great week out running around looking at things. Janie
I'm glad someone called the law
and they got that loser
Paula so glad the Police responded so quickly ~ that sounded like a scary attack on the woman ~ Ally x
I'm glad they took the guy away. hopefully he gets locked away for a few years. I hate DV situations, it really makes me angry!
Seeing that attack on the woman must have been upsetting!!
WOW, it seems that violence is a way of life now. Yes even in the small towns. Amazing the timing, isn't it. Happened just before your eyes.
Great response. Also good you guys were not directly involved.
Jack
