You remember all the fuss I made about the post or columns on our way to On The Farm to buy feed? We haven't been back as John gets the feed cheaper at Poth but I finally had the film developed. Not very good I know. I took the picture of the nearest set of columns and they are behind that tree. You can see they are out in the midde of nowhere. As I said before there are several sets like this scattered around. Now that you have seen them what do you think they are, or maybe you know what they are? They are taller then they look in this picture. I got as close to the fence as I could without getting on private property.

I don't know, maybe some kind of religious alter? But that doesn't explain why there are several. That fence post in front of it looked like an owl to me...ha. Hope Meany is in a better mood. Take care, Sheila
Tombstones, looks like a graves under a tree
I'm thinking you have your own Easter Island, right there in TX....
I betcha those columns were what is left of a building of sorts either coming or going??? but it would be nice to hear the real story...dig girl...dig.....LOLOL...and we all know that the women worked just as hard as the men...back then???!!!! makes for a "partnership" of sorts....hugs to ya...Ora
I have no idea what they could be it's a mystery.
Well, I'm no help. I have no idea what those are or why they are scattered about. You sure have peaked my curiosity though.
Hugs, Joyce
I can only take a guess that maybe it was some type of gazebo or something, of course they don't really like supporting beams. It sure is a mystery - you must ask someone around there who knows!!!
Not a clue Paula. Hope you are having a nice weekend :-)
'You haven't commented on Paula's Blog yet, ans she has a picture of the columns!" Sherry said.
"I am on my way!"
So you see I did not beat her here tonight. Funny thing the first thing I saw was an Owl in the field this side of the trees. Oh well it is a log, but looked just like an owl as first glance.
Okay I know it is tombstones! These were buried in the shade! No, joking aside,it is a mystery isn't it? I am glad to see a picture of the mysterious columns though.
Keep up the good work 'Nancy Drew' you will get to the bottom of this yet. Time is on your side.
TAke care,
Jack & Sherry
I have no idea what those are. All I could think of was salt licks but they don't really look like those and why would there be so many all together? I give up.

Happy Mother's Day, Paula!
Jimmy
Paula they could have started to build something and run out of money after putting up the post.lol. I hope you had a great mother's day, jean
I've just had another thought.... Could they some sort of Mexican or Spanish flavored Land grant property line or corner markers? Memorial stones? How about the remains of a shrine? Or just something what fell off a wagon? Maybe distance or trail markers? ...thoughts
looks like grave markers to me..get closer, what can happen?, like get shot or something!!roberta
Hmm. I love a mystery. I love the commenter who guessed 'your own Easter Island' right there in Texas. I don't know if it prehistoric, but looks like it has been there quite some time. Gerry
oh just tell us already!! i can't stand the wait!!
I have no idea, but I do hope you find out!
Looks like some sort of a grave marker. Get closer girl. Most people would not mind. Is there a fence blocking you? No? Then get closer!
