A Cheesy Brunch For The Turtles

The rains have stopped and the sun is out. We waited until late morning to go to the ranch to take some stuff to the barn. Miss Kitty came running although she doesn't seem to be starving. She has her own private house and it may be full of juicy mice for all I know. She is staying in the old homestead across the drive from the farm house. It is very delipalated, the windows and doors are coming off, and the tin roof is starting to look more then bad. If it was my property I would have torn it down. The land owner keeps saying he is but doesn't. Oh well Miss Kitty is enjoying it out of the weather I'm sure. While John was busy I tiptoed to the stock tank to feed the turtles. The mud was only bad in two places and I fed them on the end not going up on the dam. I just shouted Turtle Soup and they came swimming my way. John had given me a part box of old cheese crackers to give to them. I'll bet that was a surprise when they bit into those but they did eat them. On the way down the lane to go home we caught one turtle running away from home. John stopped the truck so I could get out and see what was the matter. It was bashful and kept it's head in it's shell and wouldn't tell me a thing. John said they sometime leave during a rain looking for a new tank. He said they can go from mud puddle to mud puddle until they find a new home. I don't know if he knows what he is talking about or not. Why would they want to leave? He said there is getting to be too many turtles in our tank. Hummm When we got out on the highway there was another running away. Oh I think I know they are looking for a girlfriend or boyfriend. Since I've gone turtle crazy I don't talk about cows much, do I? Well let me tell you those cows aren't giving us the time of day since it rained and the grass is greening up.

Glad that Miss Kitty is ok. She was probably just lonesome when she came running. You are probably right about the turtles running away from home LOL. Bet they enjoyed that cheesy treat. Have a nice weekend. Helen

The turtle was just probably going gallivanting. How did that one turtle climb up on that post?

The family has sent a scout out to find your home. Then they can have snacks along with the meals. I hope the mother has not kick them out because they have come of age go to work. Hope the cows are doing OK without your attention. Now I want turtles in my back yard.
