The Turtle Place

This if where I feed the turtlesright next to this mesquite tree. This morning the turtles were waiting under that tree where the limb hangs out over the water I said I almost promise not to talk about them again. I sit on that ledge and down below by the water is room for them to crawl upon. The cow is not there when I feed the turtles. I don't know if they would be afraid of the cows or not but I would think they would. A big ole hoof might hurt. John's daughter and her mother (yes his ex) are working for him spraying mesquite bushes. They said yesterday when they drove across the tank dam they could see little turtle heads popping up everywhere. Guess they thought the sound of a motor meant food. They got plenty of food this morning. I had my choice of going to San Antonio to eat a Grand Slam or eating a taco and feeding the turtles. The turtles won. Johnny G. there are so many turtles now I can't count them. We drove around some while waiting for the house water tank to fill for the renters. We found the little mama who had a calf and then fed two orphan calves too. The four of them stay together like a little family. All the cattle are holding their own in spite of the drought.

I have to clear something up here. Roxy is not my dog. She is my daughter, Lynda's dog. I took that picture when I went to my granddaughter's graduation in June. When I said she has two human sisters I thought everyone would catch on. Her human sisters are my granddaughters. We don't have a dog just Susie our cat.

That looks like a cool place for the cow to get. I am glad the little mama and the calves are doing good. Glad that you straightened out about Roxy. I thought the two sister were your daughters LOL. Helen

If I was a turtle that would be the kind of place I would want to live at. It's great with the cow standing there. You have them trained now! Everytime they hear a vehicle they look for food ~ that's just too cute! I figured Roxy was your other grand-daughter :)

I'm sorry your still having a drought there.
I would have picked feeding the trutles too. When I was a kid I loved trutles, frogs, grasshoppers, june bugs, ladybugs, jarflies and all kinds of creatures.

I always feel more relaxed when I see a natural country picture like yours. I guess it reminds me of my roots in a way. One problem, I would not feed the turtles with a cow that close. That cow has got horns.

Okay quit feeding or you will be herding turtles! LOL. Glad the cows are doing well inspite of the drought. We have been trying to get this computer loaded with all the junk that was lost.
Oh BTW, thanks for the idea of the G-U-M's I like them, great idea. I was surprised how soft the little pointed screw loking brush was.
This is Sherry & Jack, now in New York the edge fo the CAtskills.

I stop for turtles, much to my family's dismay at times because the roads are so curvy and windy, lol. I help the lil critters across the road so they won't get tire treaded.

We've had dogs who'd like dag shows. Lasie was a favorite many years ago. Have seen a friend's cat watching TV go grab a bite or two her food during the commercials. Had one outdoor dog once he got table fare, he buried his food dish dog food and all. He was the smartes mut we've ever had. I must rite about him one day. It'd be an honorable tribute to his 17 yrs living/entertaining/taking care of us.
Hope somebody reminds me this winter, I've got an unbelievable turtle story to tell.
Enjoy your wild life.

I just love that you have taken up the cause to feed the turtles. And now they seem to know you. It is a lovely spot to visit also.
Take care
