Happy New Year

Time is ticking on toward midnight and the new year. Already I hear fireworks in the not so distance. So much for it being illegal in our city (town) but at least is is not dry like usual. I always stay up, not so much to see the new year in but to make sure a roman candle or some such firework doesn't land on my house and start a fire. Growing up I never remember us doing anything special but I always wanted to. I dreamed of going out dancing and staying for breakfast and wearing pretty clothes but my daddy didn't think of that. Then when I got married my husband wasn't a party animal either. One year several years ago I did get to celebrate New Year's eve. We did it up right. I wore a long pink dress and my escort wore a brown western suit. We were allowed to choose a hat and horn when we arrived. I chose a tiera type to match my dress. We danced until midnight and then after the toast to a good year breakfast was served. It was all I ever dreamed it would be but the following year we did it all over but he wanted to take his mother along. I was perplexed but we did take her. lol So with that little memory I'll say good night and I wish you all a very good 2010.

Great entry. Memories are golden. You didn't turn into turtle at midnight, that is good. LOL
I think we did the all night thing one time, that was in Cuba. It was fun, but we were never party animals. BUT I do love a good party now, as long as I can be in bed by ten. hahahaha!
TAke care and we hope you have the greatest year ever.

I had a few New Years Eve's like that back in the day. But for the most part I've usually went with being snuggled in warm at home or at relatives out by a fire with kids playing with sparklers. This year we stayed in and celebrated quietly.

IF I HAPPEN TO WAKE UP NEAR MIDNIGHT ON NEW YEAR'S EVE, JUST LAY THERE AND LISTEN FOR ANY CELEBRATION. USUALLY FALL BACK ASLEEP. sam
