Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

The Moths Have Taken Up Residence In My Gloves
Our winters have been so mild the last few years I don't use my gloves, long johns and such. If we had a cold day that is about as long as it lasted and I didn't even bother to get out winter stuff. This year is different, we're having cold weather. Well its cold to us and I got out my gloves to go to the ranch this morning. I was surprised to see my gloves had some pretty good size holes. I wore them anyway, the cows don't care and the turtles don't care. In fact there was not a turtle in sight. I can't wait for a sunny day to see if they come out again. I think they will. What do you think? We drove around checking the cattle and they are looking good. We didn't find Shelly Marie or Mama Twiggy but we couldn't go to the back forty. Too muddy. We were hoping to see some deer or other wild animal since it is cold. None in sight. I think they are becoming sissies. Still no road kill (not that I'm wanting to see that) so they must be staying home at night and not out running wild or partying or whatever wild animals do to get run over. Even the new renters don't stick their head out the door when we drive down the lane. I heard a rumor that it may snow here on Christmas day. Someone's wishful thinking I would say. Maybe I'll just change my Christmas list to a new pair of gloves instead of a donkey.

I can not believe that gloves would go that long unused but you know that as soon as I get the car warm off come the gloves.
You need gloves and a donkey, get both
i'm with john on this. ask santa for gloves & a donkey! you've been a good girl, haven't you? ;)
huggies...
I think you deserve both the gloves and the donkey. I think those turtle probably buried themselves in a mud bank to keep warm. Helen
Yep I will add my amen to that. Ask Santa for both! Across the Gulf it has been sort of balmy, don't blow that cold stuff over here!
TAke care and hope you get new gloves. It may get cold again in the next few years. LOL

PAULA, I COUNT CATTLE TOO, FROM MY TENTH FLOOR WINDOW. RIGHT HERE IN TOWN.
LIVESTOCK IS ALLOWED IF GRANDPA FARMED THE PROPERTY AND FAMILY REMAINS THERE, THANKS TO THE 'GRANDFATHER' CLAUS.
A HAYFIELD THAT FAILED TO HAVE THE LAST CUTTING IS BEING PASTURED. A FEW WEEKS AGO WHEN PASTURING BEGAN I COUNTED 18 OF THE BEEF CATTLE. NOW THERE ARE 24 COUNTING CALVES AND THERE IS A SET OF TWIN CALVES WITH THE BIG MAMA.ALL SURVIVED DURING A RECENT SNOW AND THE TEMPERATURE DOWN TO 3 DEGREES ONE NIGHT. DOES NOT STAY THAT LOW LONG, USUALLY IN THE 20s OR LOW 30s AT NIGHT AND SUNNY DURING DAY IN THE 40s AND EVEN 50s.
THE OWNER PROVIDES GOOD FRESH WATER IN A SPECIAL STOCK TANK. THE HAYFIELD PASTURE IS AN AREA OF ABOUT 80 ACRES. sam
Our weather is calling for mixed weather Sat.
rain or sleet. Get two pair of gloves. You always need a spare for things just like this.
I am worried about the turtles hope they are OK.

We are heading for a warm up and I can't wait! I think I own a pair of gloves but I am not sure, but I am sure that no one noticed your holes.

Yes, a new pair of gloves ... I suspect that might be more practical than a donkey!
Best,
Marty
I always like to get a new pair of gloves. Last year or the year before I think it was I got a new scarf and hat and some gloves just love them because they are so soft. Even the smallest of gifts these days make me happy in these hard times.

I just wanted to say don't some animals get to hibernate like turtles when it gets cold enough? I am not up on my turtle facts. I am curious about where all the turtles are.
