Winter Has Arrived In South Texas

Girlfriends understand why you will gladly abandon cleaning your messy closets in order to rummage through someone else's second-hand junk---Borrowed from "Just Us Girls"

No, no snow and none is predicted that I know of, but it is plenty cold for us old softies. Even the wildlife seems to be in hiding. We went to check the cattle this morning and there was not even any road kill on the sides of the road. I have never noticied so many trees changing into pretty colors in this area. We've had such mild winters last few years I guess I forgot what winter is all about. You wouldn't believe what I drug out to wear. Remember in the 70's when it was a fad to wear colorful legwarmers over your jeans. My daughters had a pair and I had a pair. When the fad was gone and we didn't wear them any longer I kept hanging on to just one bright pink pair thinking it just may snow someday and I would wish I had a pair. So all these years when I clean out the drawer they are in I put them in the stack of give-away stuff. Somehow they always end up back in the drawer for "just in case". On the way home from the ranch my legs were hurting from the cold and from being of an older age. Out of the blue the idea hit me. I wonder if I can find those things and can I get them over my jeans. I did and I did and John ask what do you have on? After an explanation we were on our way to Poth for feed. I sent John back in the feed store to get a couple of their nice cowboy picture calendars so I had to get out of the truck to instruct the loader guy as to how John wanted the heavy tubs distributed on the bed of the little Ford Ranger. When John came out he ask me if that guy ask what those things were on my legs? No he just ask if I was ready for Christmas. Maybe he meant are you wearing those pink things on your legs for Christmas?

I remember wearing leg warmers! I love hats and with winter upon us I will be wearing them more. Last year I asked for a ladies pin and I got several! I can't wait to wear them all.... and they are so long that they can double as a weapon! LOL

Believe it or not you can still get leg warmers in the colder parts of the country. They even have something similiar for your arms to wear with short sleeved shirts. I usually wear the leg warmers under my pants like an extra pair of knee socks. (Hugs)Indigo

Paula, I can not figure out what the problem is with my blog. Sometimes I use live writer because I have a hard time getting the font set on blogger and that may be it. Thanks for trying to visit me. Check back tomorrow and I hope it will be better.

The saying goes... keep it in your closet long enough and it'll be back in style before you know it. My 15 year old granddaughter thought it was the coolest thing ever when she found a necklace with the peace sign on it and tie dye shirts!! ... of course, this old grandma had to dig into the old jewelry box and closet and show her the originals. lol

I do remember leg warmers. I was taking dance at the college and that was all the rage. I would have loved to see you with them on, I bet you looked so cute.
