Lucy seems to be saying may I please have a bite of your bread? She is being so nice and waiting for permission. See how murky thier little backs are? Well they were fed twice today and they were ready to eat both times. Both men showed up to work but not at the crack of dawn. Fence builder finally showed up at 9:30 but he did a good job. Juan had a hand (hantie) they call them to drive the tractor and they got part of the back forty planted before they lost a chain off the planter and made about two rounds without it so there is no seed planted there. I got out of the truck to help look for it but they said it was probably plowed under and it wasn't very large so we didn't find it. It was hard walking on the plowed ground in my crocs. Fence builder filled in dirt in the narrow road in the dry creek bed where I am always afraid we are going to fall in. He did a good job there too but it will probably wash out when it comes a hard rain again. Jack I still haven't figured out if these turtles lose their shells if they will be homeless or naked. I hope I don't have to find out.

Thanks for an honest answer!!! LOL.
good entry, I thought sure you had given the little guys their baths. Losing something in a plowed field is ROUGH.
Take care.

I thought these guys only ate in water! Wow. Try some tomatoes or strawberries...I know land turtles love those.
Since you keep stoppy by, I thought I'd check your blog. What great photos you have! I love this one with the bucket. Curious about turtles. I've never been around them. I'll check on you more often.
Opps! I meant stopping by. Love those cows.
Love the picture of the turtles!
Thanks for popping in today to say hello. Sorry I haven't been by much lately. Love the shot of the turtles today. See you again over the weekend :-)
Paula, How do you know which turtle is Lucy? Do they have distinct marking? I still can't get over how they come when you call them. Curious creatures...I don't think they loose their shells, do they?...more curiosity
Have a great sunshine day
Neat header picture! I like the pic of Lucy and company as well. Why don't you call her friend either Ricky or Ethel?
I don't think turtles lose their shells. They grow along with the turtle.
