A Tale, Three Tails To Be Exact

We found three new babies this afternoon. One of them could have been run over. The Mama had left it sleeping in the tall grass while she was by the tank. Lucky it heard the truck and jumped up so we could see it. Mama must have been keeping a close eye out because she came running when the calf got up. We looked for Betsy in the east end but couldn't find her but on the way home we spotted her. She has made her way farther west. John used the binoculars to check her out and he said she looks better. The mesquite is leafed out and thick already so we can hardly see the cows from the highway.Stopped to feed the turtles some bread. Didn't take them long to come to the oppsite end to where I usually feed them. I wanted to sneak some of John's lettuce out but didn't have time as we were trying to get to the car mechanic before he closed to have Ole Blue's state inspection. Got my truck done earlier in the day so we're good for another year. John is getting bad about driving her to the country and I don't like it. The mesquite scratches her pretty blue paint. I wanted to see how many years we could keep her looking nice. Oh well I had the chance to buy her back and I didn't. Looks like the renters at the farm house have bought a new car. They were driving an old truck that had about every color on it. I don't think they all fit into it so now maybe everyone can go to the flea market at one time. We will be going to the back forty soon to check the haygrazer to see if its popping up yet. Fence builder didn't show or call today. He just worked two hours Saturday and then wanted to work Sunday and John didn't let him. It is too far out to drive out with the price of gasoline and them just work two hours. Probably the end of that fence builder, probably got his feelings hurt. The cattle are happy, the grass and weeds are green. The water is warm for the turtles so all is well at the ranch.

Glad you got some riding in today. Nope, doesn't sound like that fence builder will be back, maybe John can find someone more dependable. Take care and have a nice week, Sheila
