Bubble Cow

Have you ever seen a cow blow a bubble? I caught this one blowing a bubble when they usually just chew their cud, graze, or moo for their baby. Nothing much to write about lately. The cattle have plenty of green grass and water. It is still hot so we just go out when we have to and put out some mineral or salt or what ever they need to sustain them. John has said he will keep Shelly Marie one more year and put her in the front pasture so we can find her to feed her cubes to nourish her since she doesn't have teeth. He pretends he is doing it for me butttt she always raises a good calf and good calves bring money at auction at certain times. Ginger and Pal Cow have joined the herd but still stay together in the herd. Pal Cow is due to have a calf next month so we can't wait to see how Ginger will take this new development. Will she be jealous of the baby or will she claim it as a pal too. I don't have to call the turtles anymore. When they hear the truck or feel the vibration they swim my direction and some come out of the water. The cows have messed up my feeding spot. There used to be a nice grassy seat for me but they have trampled it down so I have to stand at the edge of the water to feed. Probably along 'bout November John will have to start feeding hay as it should be some frost by then and the grass will die. He has plenty of hay and a whole field of second growth that he didn't have cut. There was so much hay made in our county this year you can't sell it. The sage bushes are loaded with blooms and that is supposed to be a sign of rain so we will see. We don't need it desperately but we are always thankful for rain and never say nay to it if we could. We are looking forward to cooler weather as it is still too hot here. The temps aren't so high but the humidity makes it so uncomfortable. Happy fall to all of you.

It's a great life when you can just watch a cow blow a bubble. Time for the moment!

I'd like Fall weather to linger as long as possible -- no need to rush Winter!

Believe me when I saw the bubbles had to see what was going to wind up being a cow blowing bubbles.

Hey Paula :) I am ready for Fall too, I think. It is getting cooler at night but during the day it heats up to 90. Cute bubble face cow. LOL! I am glad he keeps Shellie Marie, she deserves a good home and to live out her life in peace. I didnt know cows could lose their teeth when they got old! Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, I think I will have more time to blog and read blogs as it gets darker earlier and earlier. I have missed reading you so much!

If I wasn't afraid I'd hurt myself I would do a cartwheel over hearing Shelly Marie gets to stay! :-)

Sure, the cow's blowing a bubble. That's the oldest trick in the book. I learned that years ago when I say one buying bubble gum at the feed store.....

Cute picture of the cow blowing that bubble. Glad that John is keeping Shellie Marie. Glad that you have plenty of grass for the cows. It is really dry here. Most of the grass in the yard has died. Hot too. Helen
