The Coffee Shop Cowboys

They gather at the coffee shop early each morn. Too old and tired to do work in the barn.

There is Slim and Jeb, also Bubba and Jake. Slim isn't really slim, he almost lives on cake.

Jake and Bubba are bowlegged and tall, Jeb walks with a limp since a nasty fall.

Jake likes his jeans with a crease down the middle, Bubba can play a hoe down on any ole' fiddle.

Their boots are worn and hats very dusty, and their ranching ability is getting quite rusty.

They ask each other "how much rain did ya git", as they sit in the coffee shop and chew and spit.

Jake says an inch, Bubba says a little more, as Jeb sauters on out the back door.

The three left shake thier heads with a look of puzzle, why Jeb left so soon made them all bumbuzzle.

Not long after old Jeb drives up, carrying his rain gauge made from an old tin cup.

Do you see this he said with a grin, the rain is all used up just like us old men.

In my neck of the woods it's the same scenario ~ only it's old loggers and fishermen:)

Because not everyone wants to spend their time analyzing the human genome. Some (old) guys JUST KNOW.

That is so cool that you have the special way of putting words down like that and it just comes out right. I hope I get in this time with my comment.
