Over Hill And Dale

The turtles swim as fast as they can when I call them. When they get to the edge of the rough land they climb over hill and dale. Some of them even raise up and beg like a puppy dog. The edge of the water is so rough because the cattle wade into the water to drink and leave beg hoof prints. When the sun dries the land out it gets very rough but it doesn't stop those turtles. I see about four young ones now but never see a real small baby one. Maybe they stay in the mud a length of time, I don't know. A couple of people wanted to know the out come of my war with the barn swallows. I THINK I have won, crossing fingers here. One day after having scraped the mud off the day before I happen to have a can of wasp spray in my hand so I just squirted a little on the spot. They never came back to start over like they usually do. The next day I climbed the ladder and washed the area as Kath suggested with strong bleach water. I won't bet the ranch I'm through with them for good but maybe for this year. As for the police in the neighborhood and surrounding my house we never found out what that was all about or the sheriff's department cars in the serenderos on the banker's property. Oh well life goes on.

Sounds like you have the turtles pretty well trained. I never thought about wasp spray for the birds but it's powerful stuff. Hope your war is over...at least for a while.

I like that picture of the turtles.

Hopefully you did get rid of your pests, Ms. Paula, at least for this year.

I knew that you talk and whisper to the turtles, but I am surprised that they swim to you, beg, etc. That is so cool!

I see the spray has helped with the swallow problem. Bleaching was a great idea. I do not mind them on the barn, but not the house.
Great shot of the turtles coming to the buffet. You sure have earned the title, The Turtle Lady.
Sweet!

Hey Turtle Lady ~ just poppin' in to see how things are going in your neck of the woods. LOVE the turtle pic! So what are their names? Are they distinguished enough and have each their own personality? I just think it's so cool that you've been doing this for this long now and that they come when you call them. AWESOME!!!!
