Taking out some memories today of dance recitals. I don't talk about my family often here in my country blog but I thought this one was fitting. This is my youngest in one of her costumes where she danced with her class to I'm Little But I'm Loud, po' but I'm proud. Countryfied and I don't care who knows it. One day she came home from dance class and ask me if she was too young to stand with her hand on her hip. I said I guess not why do you ask? She said "D" one of the other class members had told her she was too young to stand with her hand on her hip. It turns out this family lives here in our town and at that time I never expected to be living here. "D's" little brother was just a babe in arms sucking on a pacifier and now I see his picture in the news paper where he is a real estate agent and owns a big ranch on the outside of town. The mother of the two children and I used to talk while the girls had their lessons. She told me her husband was an overseer of a large ranch and movie stars came down to buy cattle at times. Now when we go to Poth to buy cattle feed we pass that ranch. Just goes to show you just never know where you will end up or what you will end up doing.

That's true Paula, you never know and it's strange how some go from high to low and others do just the opposite. Hope you have a great weekend. John W
How right you are...one just never knows!
little but loud. i like it! :)
A sweet photo and an interesting story. It makes me nostalgic to be "little and loud" again.
Now I am big, old, and loud - - and it ain't pretty!
countryfied mama!
You never fail to touch a cord. What a great entry. My first impression was, 'That picture is Paula as a child', and I'll bet you were little and LOUD when you were young. She does favor you , doesn't she?
You are right, one never knows the future!!!!

She is adorable! If I had been her, I would have just stood with BOTH hands on my hips! Ha
Yes, one never knows where life will take you.
You're absolutely right ... you never know what time will bring or when a friend from the past will pop up. Keeps things interesting!
Best,
Marty
Life is strange sometimes, isn't it. Your daughter is a pretty young little girl. Pauline I wish I could be your neighbor to. I feel like I am in Tx. now. It is terribly hot and humid here. I loved your story about your girl. Hand on hip!!!. Ha ha
Thanks for sharing and she is very cute in the picture!

I think that's so funny that her classmate told her she was "too young" to stand with her hand on her hip. Too funny!
