Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Too Late Too Sorry
DD wrote in her blog today about giving away a rug to charity and wishing she had it back. Made me think of something I sold at a garage sale and wished I had not sold. When I was young my Mama and Daddy bought groceries at a country store. The owners used to give my sister and I a bag of penny candy as a pelone and on Christmas they gave every family who traded with them all year a nice gift. The year I was going to get married they gave me one of the gifts along with Mama and Daddy's. It was a white pedastal cake plate trimmed in gold. It was pretty but not very practical so after years past when I used one of the poplar at that time covered tin cake plates I put that other one in a yard sale. A good friend bought it and later I often wondered what she did with it. I wished I had kept it but I wasn't about to ask her.

I used to have one of those. My x still has it I suppose. First time I have even thought about in about 30 years. Helen
i sold a little end table i had had for YEARS - had it as a kid in Wis and brought it down to Texas. i sold it at a garage sale and kick myself often...
Oh, how I can relate to this. Last year I gave quite a few things away that I am quite certain I should have kept...but...~Mary
I'm so sorry your plate is gone. A good lesson for us all, I guess.
I used to borderline be a hoarder just for that reason...but too many little people live here so I had to make space for them!
I'll bet if your good friend knew, she would gladly return it. Just ask her if she ever uses it...I guess I wouldn't ask either.
I once gave away a ring I had wished I had kept for my daughter...too sorry, too late.
BlessYourHeart.........sure is dry for your dryland turtle. Prayin' for rain for you.
You stirred up a lot of memories. When I got out of the military I sold all my uniforms etc at a yard sale for pennies. I kept one uniform to be buried in.
Sure wish I had those belt buckles back. LOL

I do that kind of thing a lot. Mostly I regret throwing things away, thinking I'll never need them again.
Makes me think of giving away my girls girl scout uniforms. One belt was missing at the time, which I later found. Guess what, I still have the one belt. Isn't that a shame?
Paula, please ask your good friend if she still has the cake plate. She may sense that you have regrets and present it back to you.
