Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Pear Ball?
I've heard of Hardware disease in cattle from them swallowing something along the line of hardware. As in a rusty nail being caught in a bale of hay and a cow accidently swallows it while eating hay but a pear ball? When John was looking for a baby calf he came upon some cow bones and there was a pear ball with the bones. I hope to see it tomorrow and take a picture of it. John said they sometime happen to swallow a whole cactus pear without chewing it up and digesting it. Food keeps wraping around it and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Then the cow feels full and doesn't eat and gets weak and dies. Today we met the renter girls walking their birds and stopped to talk to them and admire their birds. They do have dogs but they walk their birds with them riding on their finger or shoulder. I don't know what kind they are. Not a parakeet and not a parrot but somewhere in between. They walk in the hot part of the day for exercise which they need. They carry a mist bottle and squirt the birds when they get hot. They say the birds let them know when its time to mist by hollering what sounds like "hot". They have their wings clipped and are very tame so they don't fly away.

that poor cow. must have been a terrible death...
are those birds maybe cockatiels? either creamy yellow and white or gray and white? :)
I have not heard of a cow having that problem, so sad. I have not heard of walking birds either. Goes to prove, I have lots to learn and I have learned here at Pauline's Country Tales!!!
The sky looks dusty.
You and your duaghter look pretty in the gazebo. The single shot of you, very pretty. You look like you are going shopping.
The things I learn when popping in to visit you.
Pear balls and walking the birds, amazing.
Now tell me the fires are nowhere near you. Been praying for rain for you drought-ridden Texans for months. Sooner than later, my prayer goes.

I have heard it all walking the birds. That
sounds like a song "Just walking the Birds".

Thou art an educator, to us city slickers. Well if you pulled one out on the gal from Wisconsin, you done a trick. I declare they know it all. But not the Power Ball, I mean Pear Ball. Okay, I don't know how I missed this one.

That sounds like Eler Beth walking her cockatiels (which may be what your renter girls have). One of the birds even likes to ride on the front of her bike.
Yikes. What a way to go!
