Mad As A Hornet

What good is a city ordinance if they don't inforce it? Coming from the ranch early this morning when we got to our neighborhood who should we meet prancing down the street with not one, not two, but three puppies trailing behind? One of the big dogs that attacked Susie yesterday. John called the city. Oh they were familiar with his name and they remembered. I sat on the porch and waited. The dog catcher never came. I think he picked up the male dog yesterday because it was no where in sight. The female was just as vicious. Susie is still improving. She is eating her soft food and can get up and down out of the shef but doen't come out of the shed. We have her because someone didn't take responsibility for their cats years ago. A mama cat left a litter in the carport and never came back for them. The three males dissappeared one by one so I took Susie and had her spayed and she has been with us ever since. Taking her to be spayed was no easy feat as she was wild and afraid of her shadow. She has remained on the wild side. Even I can not pick her up. If everything is very quiet and calm she will get in my lap when I am sitting on the porch. Any sudden noise or movement  unsettles her. She would never have anything to do with anyone other then us but just recently my daughter and John's daughter both told me they petted her on the porch. This episode will set her back.

Hopefully the love shown will help cover the episode.
But I agree, it is frustrating when wise ordinances are not enforced.

There was a time I can remember that 99% of dogs ran loose but were pussy-cats and docile. Seems we have bred 'wild people and wild domestic animals.

Love from across the Gulf,

This is just so WRONG! I'm sorry you've had to deal with insult to injury. I do no know what is wrong with some people.

Love and hugs to you and Susie!

The same thing here Paula they have ordinances but don't enforce them. I'm glad they didn't hurt Susie to bad. Take care, Jean.

I am not happy with our city. They do not enforce anything. People buy the cute little fluffy puppies and then it gets expensive for all their shots and then they let them run loose hoping they will run away. There is nothing than a dog off the leash that makes Joe angry.

I would be mad too! I would call them again...maybe tell them I am going to the mayor with this problem if they don't solve it. You had better keep an eye on Susie. It is not fair that you have to worry about mean dogs strolling around.

If one of them had his mouth around her middle it might have punctured her tummy. I know you are keeping an eye on her. Sounded like she was just sitting and eating her food when they came up and grabbed her. That dog catcher needs to be called again. I know how they are around here. Never come or maybe ride by. Makes me mad to see big dogs abusing smaller things.

PS By the way keeping that door closed until the problem is solved sure might save her life.

I get so angry when feral cats come on our place and terrorize our little kitty. Unlike what happened to you, though, she may lose her dignity but is not likely to lose her life. Dog catcher probably knows who owns the dogs. Call the dog catcher again. Complain loudly. Take a stroll in the neighborhood and see if you can find out where big dogs live....

I agree with DD. Sounds like (yet) another call is in order.
Best,
