Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Cow Pals
Cow pals would be Ginger and Pal. You may remember they were bought at the same time from across the road neighbors so the two cows could see and smell each other from across the road. After John bought them at the same time they have stayed together ever since. Best of friends. Now they are both pregnant at the same time and I can almost hear their conversations about their coming births. The neighboring heifer is causing trouble. She is a fence crawler and comes and goes from the neighbor's to John's. Now she has started leading other calves astray by jumping the cattle guard or the fence and some of the calves have started following. That is a bad thing because they have started giving ranchers a warning when their calves get out on the road. Two times, two warnings and the third time is a charm (NOT) a heaping large fine. I hear by way of the news the wild hogs are taking to higher education now. They have moved into grounds at University Of Texas San Antonio and Palo Alto college. Yep as a commenter said seems they have plans to take over the world along with the cockroaches.

I don't know how you all know whose cow is whose. lol
Just for clarification, they all look the same to me lol
lol @ Missy's comment. They are different colors, some have horns and some don't, they have different personalities but they all make cow patties and you have to be careful where you step. Thank you for your comments.
oh, once cattle start crossing fences and jumping cattle guards, there's almost no stopping them. my neighbors had two yearling heifers that i was getting especially close to this summer. not!
I hope your cows learn before the third strike!! So now the educators can learn what a nusance the wild hogs can be. I don't think they will teach the Hogs much. hahahaha.
To be honest I am surprised the calves, can get past the cattle guards. but then I am a neophyte.
From Florida where we also share the plague of the WILD HOGS.
I wonder if the hogs are coming closer to town because it's been so dry. I think cattle are kind of like dogs...not too hard for them to learn something but hard as heck to make them "unlearn" it...good luck! In answer to your question on my blog, I studied photography and journalism for a short time in college, many years ago and photography has been a lifelong passion with me. I've collected a lot of photo gear, over the years. Thanks for all your kind comments, it's gratifying that someone is looking!
I wonder if cows just are bored when they decide to escape. Hmmm,
Eeew hogs and cockroaches, why not throw in some giant spiders while we're at it - ick!!
Toon the cows like to graze in the bar ditch because the grass is greener there due to when it does rain the water stands there longer because it is low. In this case the neighbor's heifer is just one of those cows who know how and like to crawl fences and is teaching the calves.
The cow pals must be the cutest things!
In other words, Paula, that heifer is a trouble maker...lol.
Me no want wild hogs..lol.
You get to be in rapport with the natural world a lot. I think you realize cows are wayyyy smarter than we give them credit for. ~Mary
I have to agree with Mary on this one Paula.May I wish you and yours a great Thanksgiving for tomorrow Paula, whatever you have planned.Watch out they don't all stray though whilst you enjoy LOL!!Take Care God Bless Kath xx
This will be short and sweet, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Do not let the neighbors cows teach John's bad habits!!!!!!
I have this image in my head of all the cows getting together to party down after y'all head to bed. I can see where the expression, "Party til the cows come home!" would come from, LOL. Happy Thanksgiving ~
