Was This A Major Mistake, I Didn't Think So

When you read blogs does one sometime trigger a memory that you can't stop thinking about? Last week I was reading one (I think it was Jack's) writing about post offices and postage and we know how important they are at Christmastime. Sending out cards used to be my favorite part of Christmas and I used to send out lots of them but no more. One year at church the preacher's wife told me she received my card but the postage was due on it and she had to pay it. I have a few times in my life received something from someone with postage due so I paid and thought nothing more of it. I sure wouln't have confronted the person who sent it. So the next Sunday I handed her the exact amount of postage which wasn't much back then and she took it without saying a word. If it had been several dollars I could understand but a few cents?

I think what she did was rude and uncalled for. I am sorry she did that. Just think of all of the other people that never said a word. They know the meaning of Christmas. Bless your heart.

I wouldn't let one jerk stop you. The reality is that almost everyone enjoys getting something in the mail.

I have not sent Christmas cards except for special people for quite a few years. That was down right rude. It is getting more costly every year so it could be time ti whittle down my list.

Usually the card is a big, grand one and they just didn't realize it would require any more postage.

I have to smile. It is amazing how some folk just cannot keep their mouths SHUT. In my thinking especially a preacher's wife!!! OUCH how ignorant! I am still smiling though, because i love the fact you gave her the postage.

I wonder if she ever thought of what she said? Somehow I doubt it, there are folks in their little world and no one else counts but them.

I love you lady, you are neat!!

I use to send out Christmas cards and buy new one every year. I have sent out 3 this year to the ones I know that never forget to send us one. Not sure if there will be any more, lol. Some people can be so rude. It makes me feel good to get one and i would never complain if i had to pay extra postages. Take care, Jean.

Here in England Paula,we have to pay extra for the size of the envelope, most people know what sizes come under the normal postage stamp rate,So no problems forme in that line as yet.Let m,e say though it becomes a little too much when my ROOSTER had to pay for an advertisment which was sent to his door.If it has an underpayment they leave a note tht you have to collect fromthe post office.Rooster went along paid the postage and low and behold it was someone sending a Caravan advert out (Trailer as you call them.Beat that one LOL.Let me say he wasn't too happy,as it's quite a way too to the post office from his home.I would never say a word,if it happened to me,and just like you I would have had to pay them back too. Some people will cut a dime in too.LOL!! RTake Care Thanankyou for your well wishes I am fgeeling a little better so playing a bit of catch up now once again xxx God Bless xx

I would never had said anything to you. I've sent stuff out already with postage due. I haven't made that mistake in a while, but it does happen. Hope you've been having a good week.

I couldn't imagine anyone scuzzy enough to demand a few cents postage on an overdue card. You were extremely gracious to give it to her. I would have given her a kick in the pompous ass!

Some people just can't help but point out your mistakes. I know somebody like that (my mother!).
