Zebras In The County

To get away from TV and trips to Wal*Mart we went for a drive south of town on a country road. We saw something in the distance in a field all white. Everyone was guessing what they were and then we came upon the same thing near the fence where we could see and they were Snow Geese so the male counterpart of our company said. Farther down there was a field of Sand Hill Cranes all covering the ground. I was wondering why we never see these anywhere else and he said there is probably still some kind of left over grain and this is a good place to feed before they go whereever they go. The most amazing to me was a large pen with Zebras and Buffaloes. I know there are other buffaloes in our county but the Zebras here are new to me. John said some are crossed with donkeys but they looked like pure Zebras to me and why would they need to cross them. I know they cross the buffaloes with cattle to make a leaner meat. Then we swung by where our old perfume factory used to be and the oil field has taken it over for some of their business. Several years ago a perfume factory came in here thinking of getting cheap labor but I think they were stealing them blind until the business folded. It was the cheap stinky perfume like you might find in a dollar store. One of John's renters worked there at one time and gave him several bottles of it. It is still in the garage and me not wanting to waste anything uses it for air freshener around Susie's littler box. I often wonder if she likes it.

You are so clever to use it as air freshner for Susie's box. So glad you had a good day. Sounds enjoyable!

Good Idea about the perfume, but if you ain't told her, she thinks it is the expensive Paris stuff. LOL
I know Zebra's are not indiginous to Texas, but they are fun to look at. Strange the toys RICH folk come up with. Even the animal toys.

Take care, and just so's you will know Christmas is just around the corner!!!!

That's hysterical ... I wonder what the entrepreneurs who created that perfume in the first place would do if they knew you were using it to freshen up a litter box? Maybe they'd create a new business out of it.
Best,
Marty

No wonder your cats are always having kittens, they smell too good for the Tom cats to resist! I'd love to see those striped mules!

I have never seen a Zebra anywhere but a zoo. It would have been neat to see them up close and personal. My kitties hate perfume. But I got a kick that you use some old stuff to make your cat's litter box smell fresh and clean.

I agree that I would think Zebras would just be out in a open. I think of them in the zoo. I must say and brag we have cranes here. We took a jaunt to see them on the Platte river. The corn fields and any other fiedls that had grain was just brown. They were quite a site to see.
