A Fence Fixin' Hammer

Today we drove to San Antonio to buy just the right fence fixin' hammer. I'm thinking seven or eight dollars, not more then ten. Wrong! That hammer cost $40.00. He didn't offer to buy one for me, thank goodness. I have my own special little teeney hammer that I hang pictures with. I use one small panneling nail to hang everything. I've had good luck until our company was here. I have the bathroom all decorated in country. The shower curtain is cow, barn, tractors, well completely farm country. The shower curtain clips are little tractors. The toothbrush holder is a tractor. I have two  wall decorations that are tractors. Have you ever hear the song "She Thinks My Tractor Is Sexy"? Anyway while the company was here she hung a towel on a little shelf with a country scene in back and loosened that tiny panneling nail and when John went into the bathroom the little shelf fell on his hand and scratched him and made him bleed. Poor thing, now we are minus one country decoration. We got one good forty dollar fence fixin' hammer now. John had better protect it with his life. I'll stick to my small hammer that I hang pictures up with a tiny panneling nail.

Hahahaha. That "poor thing" doesn't sound that heartfelt.

LOL. I still have my blue tool set my dad gave me when I got a divorce. It came in pink too but he knew I'd scream if I saw pink! Blue was bad enough... I wanted a grown-up hammer!

I'm smiling at your bathroom description "minus one country decoration". =)

Paul keeps an expensive set of tools for himself. Me? Ha! I'm the one that does all the house repairs and I still have my elcheapo hammer and screwdrivers. (Hugs)Indigo

I hope you got a nails set, air hose and a compressor to operate that hammer!!! hahahahah

I'm really laughing because while we were home my son was showing me his $90 roofing hammer!!!!

Something I don't undertstand about the $8 hammer. The most I ever paid for the Carpenter framing hammer was $20 Craftsman.

But I am sure it will cut, and dig as well as hammer. Probably worth it for the jobs to be done. But it is too bad he didn't buy you one.
getting expensive to be a cowboy!
Love ya

I have a teeny hammer too, perfect for hammering tiny nails. I will guard that one, too! Love my little hammer...lol.

It's amazing how much tools (and everything else) cost these days...it's all part of the master plan...social security benefits go up 2 or three per cent...so prices go up 20 or 30 per cent...can't win! Everybody needs a good hammer though ;)

Sounds like you have done your house proud. O use a small hammer and panel nails to. Joe still has so many tools since he retired. We advertised a couple of years back and sold a bunch but we have a lot more. Everything got tight when the economy started to get worse and worse. Think we may advertise when summer comes. The wind is blowing hard here and temps are dropping.
