It Was A Tee Shirt Kinda Day

Do you ever get up and just want to wear a certain article of clothing you know you have stuffed away somewhere? Today I just felt like wearing my Niagra Falls tee shirt. I don't know why except that I like the softness of it and the color of kind of a cross between mauve and lavender. Before my husband died I had never been out of Texas other then to Mexico on my senior trip which is another story. After I was over my mourning period I started venturing out. You hear of all these wonderful dreamy places and an image sets into your brain. I went with John to Buffalo, New York to see his brother one year. Now you have to know this country girl does not know her Geography. We had been somewhere in his brother's car and I happened to spy a sign with an arrow pointing with the printing Niagra Falls. I had no idea I was anywhere near Niagra Falls. Heard about it all my life. People with money going there on their honeymoon. I was this close, I have to see it. The rest of the group had been there and didn't get too excited but agreed to take me there. They said we have to go to the Canada side. Its getting late and I just know this opportunity is going to slip by but we got there a little before dark. It was in December and it was so cold. Colder then this Texan has ever felt. It was too cold and late to go down below to see what ever you see down there so we went to a restaurant to eat and warm up. It was nice and we could see the lights on the falls across the way. Then we checked out all the tourist traps and I just had to buy a tee shirt to prove I had been to Niagra Falls even if it wasn't on a honeymoon. The picture has nothing to do with this entry other then I probably have enough tee shirts to wear a different one for a lot of days. Some days it will be a No-Where Oklahoma one. Yes there is a No-Where Oklahoma. I have the tee shirt to prove it. I wish I had one to prove I saw Amarillo by morning. I did, I really did, but most places are not what the idea in your head has been conjuring up so many years but I've got those tee shirts to prove a lot of things.

I LOVE Niagara Falls. Been fascinated with it for years. Your TEE SHIRT sounds so cool. What a GREAT memory. I understand how excited you must have been visiting the first time. I remember the feeling well. I went on my honeymoon there. But believe me when I tell you we weren't rich. Enjoyed your tee shirt story. take care.

Good story Paula...I've never been to the falls (or any other place in the Northeast) but I've always wanted to go...in the summer time!

This is such a wonderful story! Made me smile while reading it.

Nothing beats a good tshirt or here in MN...a good sweatshirt too. :)

I enjoy old memories and this is a good one. It has been several years since I have been to the Falls. I do not have a tee shirt to prove I was there, but do have a picture. Next time I go, I will definitely bring home a tee. I love my tee shirts!

I have never been to Niagra falls or anything except hot Texas when my son and his wife were still together. Long ago, now. Down to The Grand Old Opera and on to Georgia to see Joe's sister. I like your big hair picture. I have to tell you that we got up to 70 here last Monday in cold Ne. We will pay so they say Thurs night snow for several days.

That's a great story and I'm glad you still have the T shirt. My parents went to Niagra Falls once when I was about a year old. I don't remember a thing, but I still have some old photos that they took there.

Never been to Niagara Falls either, but have been to Niagara, WI. a couple times. It's just a yell across the way from CherShots home in Crystal Falls. I live just outside of Park Falls, and there isn't even a falls. I guess there was one, once, many, many moons ago when the paper mill just started and the loggers would ride the logs down the river, as dangerous as going over the Niagara Falls in a barrel. Sorry, got chatty there for a sec. Anyway, Paula, I'm glad you have a T to prove where you've been. I've been to Billy Bob's in Ft.Worth, and yeppers, got the 'T' to prove it. Totally enjoyed this entry.
