The People You Meet At Wal*Mart

I was up early and dressed before John this morning to go to the ranch to feed the cattle and the turtles. Only two turtles came up as it was cool and the water must have been too cold for them. We found two more new calves so that makes seven since January 1st. It was still early when we got home so we took his car and his work truck to Wal*Mart to have the oil and filter changed. We sat in their little waiting room and watched and listened to the show (people watching). The first man who came in had brought his sister in to get a new tire as she had been driving on her donut for weeks. His job has taken him all over the country even though he looked just like an ole' country boy dressed in his overalls. He told us of lots of things he has seen in other states and told us he has been single for years but kept throwing in something in the conversation about his girlfriend. Next comes in another man in his overalls and tells us he is a farmer not by choice. He inherited the land and can not sell it. He and John had a lot to talk about. Cows, crops and everything agriculture. Until a lady came in interrupting by turning her speaker phone on so we could hear the person on the other end chewing her out. When she got off the phone she told us a lot. She was in the army and her rank is higher then the people at the Veteran's hospital so she could force them to give her information. Humm! She shot an illegal who was trying to get into her window. Her bother-in-law is trying to elimate everyone in the family so he can get all the money. I wanted to ask where she lives so I don't drive slowly by her house but I didn't, I just told her to have a good day.

You and John are two lucky dudes!!! Amazing how important someone is when you don't know them!!!
But you do meet some genuine people that way, and put up with the rest, or be nasty, and I know you ain't gonna be nasty!!!!

Yikes. That last one, the high-ranking lady, sounds like a Class A nutcase. Did you get any photos? I'll keep an eye out for her at 7th and Montana.
