Hairbrained Idea On A Country Road

This is one of the country roads we check out about once a year. Is there anything different there? No but John can tell me his story about this road again and he does. Maybe you can tell it is narrow and over a bridge. Just beyond the bridge is a bend in the road. John tells me before I knew him he moved an old trailer house down this road and I believe him because he will take a chance to make a buck. He had one helper and they had to raise the trailer over the bridge. I don't remember how they did that and I don't really want to know. However I was with him on one hairbrain idea of moving a small building all the way out here from San Antonio. He owed a large building here in our town and rented it to Benny for a body and paint shop. On the same street he owned a vacant lot. Benny got the idea he could also rent the vacant lot and run a used car lot too. He said he needed a small building for an office so John started scaning the ads. He found a nice small building so we headed north pulling a wore out trailer with tires that had seen their better days. It was a nice building at a very resonable price. The catch was, the buyer had to move it and there was a deep ditch behind the house. I don't remember all the details of them loading it because I was in denial. No way could he cross that ditch with a small building loaded on a rickety trailer with bad tires and drive all the way to our county. While I was in denial John had dollar signs before his eyes as in collecting more rent from Benny. I refused to get inside the truck until he was safely across the ditch and headed south plus I kept my eyes closed. We drove very slowly and stopped several times to check the tires. We made it to just the edge of our town and blew a tire. We were very near our destination so John drove on the rim the rest of the way. The car lot never did well. I guess because it wasn't on a heavily traveled street so Benny gave it up. John sold the lot with the cute little building to a lady who gave the building to her son before she had the lot paid off.

Paula, John thinks he can do anything. Perhaps it is partly because you are always there by his side. :)

Pretty little road. Why do men always seem to want things that are hard to haul? I remember when a friend was about to remodel, they gave Pete the bar, mini fridge and stools. He loaded the mini fridge and stool in the back of a truck, but the bar he had to put on a borrowed low boy. He didn't tie it down cause it weighed a ton. But of course it started to "float" when we got on on the highway and hit little bumps. Soon it crashed onto the pavement. So we got free bar stools instead.

LOL what are you like Paula? Or should I say what is John like haaa. This blog is better than going to watch any comedy film (movie). My sister used to have a very old Ford Zepher Estate car,and what we used to move in that for other people was unbelievable. We have used ladies tights for the broken fan belt.Dropped raw eggs in the radiator when it leaked haa.You name it we were great mechanics in them days, when all the kiddies were small, and times were hard,to make a buck or two as John likes to do.Everytime we used to set off,all the neighbours, used to come outside, stand at thier doors and shout out......Hey-Up...... (Yorkshire speak)..... Here come the Hillbillies haaaaaaaaaaaa.Have a great Sunday Paula .Take Care God Bless Kath xxx
