Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

What Would Their Answer Be?
In south Texas cactus grows abundantly seemingly without nutrients. Leave a piece of machinery sit for a year without use and when you come back there will be cactus growing in it, around it, or under it. Maybe you can see the two leaves growing out of the fork of an old mesquite tree. It is out behind the cattle pens. I've seen it grow all kinds of places. I've been keeping an eye on a cactus plant on the main street leading into our neighborhood. I really want to take a picture of it but it is on private property. The cactus is growing on the roof of a house. The house has a flat roof and is rather unkempt. I'm not judging here as it could be an elderly person or people who can not afford maintaince or not able to do labor. Anyway I pass this house most everyday and I've had my eye on this cactus plant. I guess because of the rain we had it has grown some and it looks as if it is trying to bloom. Probably has a thin layer of dirt on the flat roof and a bird planted it. I would not take a picture on private property without asking permission sooo would they tell me to to get off their property or would they invite me in for a cup of coffee? Humm, of course I would offer to take a picture for them too.

Take the picture. Crop it so nobody will know where it really is. Inquiring minds want to know.
cactus on the roof! too cool!
Wow! I really had no idea they could be so invasive. I'd love to see the one on the roof...but I understand.
Of course they would invite you for a cup of coffee, Who wouldn't?

I saw the same thing a few years ago and I had to take a picture of it. I did from a distance. Funny thing was, the house was mine in 1963-1965.
Go on Paula take a chance He-He.I once saw a shrub growing in the gutter of a roof at the local supermaket LOL!!Never thought to take a snap of it though. It's amazing where things will grow after the birds and the wind scatter seeds.Have agreat Monday Paula.Take Care God Bless Kath xx

We planted a little cactus in a hollow spot on an old tree we had in the backyard in Texas...we had seen some growing in other trees. Take care, Sheila

If I had a cactus growing on my roof, I'd be thrilled to have someone take a picture of it!
