Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Be Still My Pitter Pattering Heart!
Did you see the 80 year old lady on the news who wanted to sky dive but backed out at the last minute? Her instructor pushed her out anyway and she was up there hanging by a thread. I guess I'm a real chicken because in high school (much younger then 80, ha) I was terrified of fire drills. Our school was only two story and the fire escapes were tube like slides. There was no danger of falling off but they went straight down in order to move as many people as could be moved fast. To top it off little boys would go to the school after school and wax them with wax paper to make them go even faster. I prayed everyday that fire drill alarm didn't go off. I would prefered to take my chances and jump out the window onto the hedge below.

wow! fire chutes! i think i'd have been scared, too!
I would have been scared to. Reminds me when I was in elementary school we had some big slides and some of the boys used wax paper on them and we would sail down and hit the dirt.I wouldn't sky dive for any amount of money, lol. Take care. jean
I didn't read about the sky diver, but I did smile thinking of Paula flying down the slide!!!!
memories.........
Love from over and up here.
It scares me to think of sky diving. My husband, the paratrooper would go for it.lol.
I would have been like you, scared to jump down the tubes....lol.
We had steel stair escapes and those were scary too.
But, those were the days, right Paula? Yea!
Waxing the fire shute? Phew. sandie
Your high school fire drills sound like they were unusually frightening. I was never afraid of fire drills, but sky diving scares the jeeters out of me. I have a female cousin who sky dives all the time.
Don't know who packed her chute. But i'd never trust that person again. She's lucky to be alive.
I am afraid of heights.
Should that instructor have pushed her out?!?
