Does The Farm Supply Store Sell Formal Clothes?

Overalls with ruffles and sequins maybe? No I guess not. Why all of a sudden are we so popular with these formal invitations? Recently I met a young woman and her baby who are kin to someone I know. She and her intended had planned to be married in June but she got pregnant so they were going to just go to the court house. Her mother didn't like that idea so she planned a real wedding but small for the couple. Baby boy is two months old now. Saturday we received a formal invitation from the couple and their son to their re-wedding in June. I heard by the grape vine she wants her son to be in the wedding. I'm thinking push the little darling down the isle in a new red wheelbarrow. No guess that would be too informal unless they added a satin pillow. I'm so tacky. I'm trying to say since they are already married I would take the money for the large wedding, reception, and perhaps an expensive honeymoon and sock that money in the bank for a rainy day or toward a house. Generation gap, would you say?

I totally agree with you...people are goofy! Put the money towards a nice HoneyMoon or maybe for a down payment on some property or house..Don't waste it on a formal wedding. Fred and I had a very simple (cheap) wedding under the oak trees at our house...my dress was $30 on sale at JCPennys...The family bbq'ed and we had maybe 30 close family and friends...Everyone enjoyed it from what they said and there was a lot of laughter...It was great! They still talk about how much fun it was...The only expensive thing was I hired a professional photographer as I wanted excellent photos and so glad I did because we have beautiful photos from that day.
I don't understand these kids today. Fred's oldest sons first wedding was outrageously expensive and the bride got mad at us when we told her what we would give them towards the wedding. We also told them that would be their wedding present too...Obviously it wasn't enough...and then 11 months later they were going through a divorce...Hmm?

I say the same thing, but you know with age comes our wisdom, I just wish I could kick my children(grown) sometime for not listening to me about some things, they just have not(WISDOM) got it yet,Thank the Lord he takes a lot of worrying off my shoulders I tell him my worries and than try my best to leave it to him. hugs/ Sherry

I am with you, Paula. I don't see the point, anymore. A formal wedding in white is senseless now.

Good entry, as usual.
Take care.

I agree with you Paula. The deed is done so why do it again? Put that money to good use.

DEFINITELY A GENERATION GAP!!!! Maybe not a generation gap, it could be just stupidity!!!

One comment in my book on marriage was: "I hope you spend more time planning the marriage, than the wedding!"

some folks get the wedding and the marriage mixed up!!!!!
