I Hate It When Buzzards Stare At Me
When John let me out on the tank dam yesterday to feed the fish and turtles there were white birds and black birds sharing a dead tree across the way. I could tell the white birds were Egrets and finally figured out the black birds were buzzards. The Egrets flew away when I walked to the water's edge but the buzzards kept their position. It made me feel a little odd since I wasn't feeling so well. John said they were just waiting for me to leave so they could get a drink. Last week the gas company called John to tell him after the Memorial Day week-end they will start on their project of running gas lines through the ranch property. That is going to be a new experience for us. Can't wait to see how they are going to keep the cattle and especially the curious calves out of those deep trenches. I'm sure this is not their first rodeo and they know what they are doing. They will be cutting fences to get their equiptment in and putting in gates. Can't wait to see this process and how it all works and how much money John will get for the loss of grazing.
