Trailer Park Trinkets

Pray tell what is the difference in trailer park trinkets and any other trinkets? This is the name of the newest business in our town. Maybe it's a play on words because of all the RV parks springing up to house the oil field workers.. I know you are tired of me talking of our oil boom but it is awesome to watch. Everywhere there is a space people are renting it for people to park RVs. I was very against the park that went into our neighborhood as I had waited 65 years for a brand new house but I will say it is the nicest one I've seen with black wroght iron fence and gates. They have landscaped it and it has cement areas to park the RV with a picnic table and barbeque pit for each. All the RVs are nice ones so they must be policing who can rent there. Now I see they are buiding a small building toward the back so I presume it is an office or laundry facilities or both. It is almost full in just a few weeks and there is room to expand in back. This area was a ranch at one time and it was still grown up with trees and bushes. I hate to see the wild life pushed out. Our town was once like a combination of living in town and the country but it's getting more citified everyday. Near downtown they have cleared a large area where the rumor is will be a hotel and restaurants. Next town over the same thing and the rumor is a mini mall. The two towns at one time were seperate and you could tell where one ended and the other started. Not anymore they blend together. I guess only the tax rolls would tell for sure. Atascosa county has always had oil but this is a new way of drilling through shale (not shell). Traffic is the new topic of conversation of the old cowboys in the coffee shops now days.

Is it just for the oil boom people or can any RV'ers stay there? Hope you are having a good week. Take care, Sheila

I don't know Sheila but I presume anyone with the money could stay there. I've heard it is expensive but I wouldn't know what expensive is since we don't own an RV. Thank you for your comment.

It is always hard to see towns spread out and take up former farmland (here) or ranch land, but, on the other hand, jobs are so badly needed now, I can't say it's a bad thing. At least the RV park near your home is well done. I don't get tired of reading about the oil boom. I think it's very interesting too.

I would imagine that trailer park trinkets are a little more trashy than regular trinkets (that's supposed to be humorous, but I don't hear anyone laughing....).

I'm delighted that your area is having an oil boom and I wish it would happen here in my part of Texas. Perhaps I should start drilling in my back yard.

Well, if they must move into your area I am glad they are keeping things nice. Change is so hard...especially in small town America.

I remember the oil boom in the 80's and know this one shall pass too...I just hope people save their money for the rainy days.

With Oil Town booms comes economic growth. It rickles down to all areas of life. Your town will NEVER be the same. That can be a good thing or a bad one depending on your point of view. Take care.

Wow, you are growing!! Trans Canada pipe line is still trying to get trough Ne. They will get through so just let them get it done. All of this dilly dallying for nothing. My nephew and wife stopped in yesterday for about an hour or 2. They were going to visit his brothers grave, then his mom and dads and my mom and dads and brothers grave. It was a bit emotional for both of us. When his mom died at a very young age I was with them a lot. I was 12 at that time.

Sorta frustrating that we are getting more Oil and the prices seem to keep going up.
But to the post, you got me? But the RV parks now are forced to stay above what our trailer parks have become.

I was always pro trailer, because that is what we started off house keeping in, but to see some of the parks today, it is easy to see how they have gotten a bad name.

We have rain also!!!
