How Would You Like To Drive On This Road?

We drive on this road to get to the back forty. This is in the dry creek bed and to the left is the banker's property. The rocks are filling a hole so we don't fall into that crevice. When we used to drive the tractor there to plant hay grazer or check the wild hog traps because it was too wet to drive back there I would make John stop so I could get off and walk across. I could just feel that big John Deere on top of me. When we got to the back this morning there were two deer but they made haste when they saw us. The mesquite beans are turning brown and the pear apples on the cactus are turning red so the cows have something new to snack on. They like both. When I fed the turtles I saw several that looked about teenage (no acne yet). Wish I could see some real young ones but never have. Didn't look like the pipeline crew did any work yesterday. we were really early birds today. We stopped for breakfast tacos and coffee, checked the fence on the back forty, checked the water and cattle and fed the turtles and was back home in town by 8:30. Now we can hug the air conditioner the rest of the day.

Smart to get out there before the real heat of the day hits. Too funny about turtles with acne! hehe!

I would love hiking on this road if someone could promise I would encounter no snakes along the way...lol.

Take care and enjoy the AC in this heat. We are headed for 104 today, 107 tomorrow. I still vote for Summer over Winter...lol.

We are early risers too, in this heat. We do not have it as hot as you, high 80's-90's but it's been humid as *ell. We've been getting early outside done, then hugging the air conditioner too. It's the only way. Stay cool.

It conjures up some memories of when Slim and I came down to Texas in 2008 hog hunting ~ some of the roads we went on ... I was holding my breath. Crossing some dried up creek beds and dikes. But then again... we have some doozies up here by us too that we travel during trapping season.

Hey with that driving experience you could get around in the mountains.
We were near 105 today. Imma appreciating this shed to have the motor home under or we would be headed for the mountains our selves.

AC is your friend, Paula. I'd love a hike/walk on that road, but not a drive. ~Mary
