No Sign Of Skin Or Fin

We left early to beat the heat. Had to wait for my mini cinnamon rolls with coffee at Burger King. Good grief don't they know country people get up and on the road early? It did stay cloudy all morning so that helped. We found one new calf, still had it's naval cord on. While John was filling the trough I went to  feed the turtles and fish. Where are these fish coming from? I didn't see the tiny ones in a school today but I counted six of the size I have been feeding, About four inches long. The bread I took was crumbly so they were skimming along the top of the water with their mouth and whiskers showing sucking up the bread. I didn't see hide nor hair (I mean skin or fin) of the new tiny fish but that isn't to say they aren't there. I only go to one spot along the stock tank. The poor cows like to drink in that spot too so they stood behind me waiting with patience for me to finish so they could drink. No sign of the gas line men in the last few days. No digging yet. They will probably rush in there when we least expect it. Humm I wonder if they could dig all way across and finish in one day and cover it up as they go?

wouldn't that be a miracle if they did?! :)

I'm wondering if that is the same company that is putting in the line here too...I wish they'd do our property in a day and leave. Not looking forward to them tearing down our junk trees and making a mess, sigh!

workman always take their sweet time getting a job done and then leave a BIG mess. Hope you have better luck. Do the cows slurp up any of the fish?

No, I've never seen a cow slurp up a fish. I think the fish leave the area of drinking cows. lol

Wendy I think this is Lonestar Gas Company who are coming through here and someone told us there are several companies putting pipeline through this area. Not sure, just heard that.

WHAT are you doing up early? You are RETIRED! Early is 9-10 am. hahahaha

nah I still have friends who get up with the chickens. I don't mind the chickens having time alone.

I hope you have good luck with your gas linemen. I bet the little fish went into a deep hole to escape the heat.

Thanks for refreshing my memory on that little Amen phrase...I would never have remembered it. I had to just settle for a biscuit...lol.

From my experience, I would say don't expect too much from the utility men, as far as doing the job quickly and covering it up as they go! :)

Don't bet on the work men getting truly done in a day. I don't know where the city of Lincoln and the Canada pipe line is. That is just stupid to fight them. They will get that trans Canada pipeline through Ne. one way or the other.
