Country Memories
Are you old enough to know what this is or to have used one like I have? I discovered this one on one of my little country trips. I can't believe I didn't look inside to see if there was a catalog instead of toilet tissue. It goes to a camp house. There is a real bathroom at the main house but it does have a clawfoot tub and I got to take a bubble bath in it.

when i was young in wis, my sis and her husband rented a house w/ an outdoor toilet, only. i didn't like visiting there at night...
Of course I'm not old enough to remember this (smile) but I know what it is. It looks like the place where they sell tacos in my town here in West Texas.
I used these while out camping but also remember using one at my step-grandmother's house in Missouri when I was a little kid.
We used to have one when I was growing up.
Amazing you should post that. We just returned from a visit with jack Darnell. He has an active outhouse and none inside. Yep, I can remember them. As a matter of fact we had one when the boys were 5 & 8.
Bubble bath in a clawfoot tub, ahhhh class!!!
Love from over here!!
I only used an outhouse until we moved to the city when I was 12. Even after that, when we visited relatives, we still used an outhouse.
I remember! :) We had one at our cabin. Great memories.
I was lucky enough not to have had one! lol sandie
I had to use one of those till I was 16 and moved to Lincoln. We had catalogs and newspapers.
We still have one, but one like you see at the ballgames and carnivals in small towns, all lined up. Ours is at the cabin and since we live in Eisenstein Township, ours has the name of the Eisenstein Dump. LOL
We used the real mccoy up til I was about 6, and there were a mess of kids at home yet. At the cabin, I use the portable, inside, at night...otherwise, I go home which is only 3/4s of a mile the way the crow flies.
Glad you loved the garden tour...oh, there will be lots more as the produce ripens. Thanks for stopping

I have used a clawfoot bathtub. :) Took a bubble bath many times in one at my Grandparent's house. That same bathtub is still in use today.
I remember. By the way I love clawfoot tubs too.
I remember them. We never had one, but my grandmother did when I was very little, and the church we went to when I small had a double-seater!!
