Busy As Beavers

They aren't building a dam though. We went to the ranch late afternoon and the hills (trenches) were singing. There was large equipment all up and down the pipeline and a crew of men working. They didn't get off at five as it was almost six and they were still working. I didn't mean to imply the cattle are in a small pen waiting. Just that they are used to roaming where they want on almost 400 acres. They are penned in one area but have grazing and water. In a few days if the crew isn't finished John will transfer the cattle to another field so they can have fresh grazing. He is going out early each morning to spray mesquite while it is cooler. If you don't keep after the young bushes they will take over the fields. We had to dig out his applicaters licence in order to buy the chemical needed to kill those mean bushes with the hurtful thorns. He had to go to a school to get the licence. we are having some hot days but the green is holding up from the rains we have had and John is adding fresh water to the stock tank so hopefully we can make it to fall.

Glad you got some rain to keep some things green. Feel sorry for the cattle. It will be good to move them to another field so they can have fresh grazing, Take care.

Sounds like they are getting things done. It probably does disrupt the routine. Canada has been trying to get a pipeline through Ne. for over 6 or 8 months. People just find something to delay it.
