Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

When Odors Colide
If someone had come to my door this morning they would have had a what is that odor look on their face I'm sure. I just had to cook the roast in my crock pot that I read about in Martha's blog Seaside Simplicity. I would have been sceptical cooking a roast in Dr. Pepper but I know Martha is a good cook and a wonderful lady whom I've been reading since way back in AOL Journals. Add some garlic and black pepper and it was smelling like lunch at breakfast. So I plugged in the smell good thingy Leah bought me for my birthday. That's two odors wafting their way through the house. In walks John from spraying mesquite at the ranch. The chemical odor is there even if I hide his clothes in the garage or if I wash them right away. That's three. Two good plus one bad equals STRANGE.

i bet the roast turned out good! but the aromatic assault would have been tough to take w/ all 3 at once!
When I was a very young girl, I'd visit my grandfather's parents home. I would catch a smell coming from the basement and it was strange, too. I was never allowed to go to the basement so it spurred the imagination, lol. I later found out the culprit was a moonshine machine. My great grandfather was brought home one afternoon by the police for public intoxication and they caught wind of it. They did not arrest him, just dismantled it and took it away.
Whew! That a lot of odor. Bet the roast was wonderful!
Was the roast good or is it still cooking? Joe has taken over the laundry and even though I am perfectly capable of doing it, he is afraid I will fall, going down the steps. There have been one problem and every so often there must be something he has used and puts them in a load and they wind up smelling like Chemicals of some kind. It is better since I have been giving them back and suggesting He figure out a way ro get the smell out.
I am always all for adding garlic.
Only you could make a great entry out of this. Love it. The other day when Sherry was taking a close up of the cows waiting to be milked, I told her to get a picture of the smell too.
And then along came John!!!
I did not know mesquite was so bad...there is a town in Nevada named Mesquite...I think it is the same bush. Bless you and the aroma..I hope the happy ones win out. Hahhaha.
Hope your roast was good.....I sometimes do mine in 1 can of coke and a can of cream of mushroom soup! very yummie gravy!
