Frog Silliness

Frogs and turtles must not get along well in nature. I've never studied up on it but I'm sure someone here will tell me. At the stock tank where I feed the turtles I have never seen one frog there or heard one. When we lived out there and it rained a flood I heard some in some large mud puddles. When John leased the large ranch at the stock tank we were near most often was loaded with frogs but I never saw a turtle there. Anyway I like frogs as well as turtes.

When Frogs Wear Little Red Shoes:

When the computers are all down and the ducks all drown. If the windmills stop turning and the children stop learning---frogs will wear little red shoes.

If the telephone stops ringing and the choir stops singing. When the trees stop swaying, and music stops playing. When the hens stop laying and the donkey stops braying---frogs will wear little red shoes.

When chocolate is sour and weavels dislike flour. When grass is no longer green and angels are mean---thats when frogs will wear little red shoes.

I could go on and on with this silliness, better stop now. I fought the ants last night that were coming in around the air conditioner. Since it didn't get cold enough to kill the bugs and insects we will be fighting them all summer I'm sure.

we have frogs and turtles here. i'm guessing the turtles eat a lot of frog eggs, however, and keep the population down.

Did you write that? It's such a cute little poem! I really like that!

We also welcome frogs...well, toads...with open arms here. I hate it if they jump out at me and startle me, but as long as they keep a distance, we get along just fine. I love that they will eat loads of mosquitos and June bugs. We rarely see a turtle, but we don't live close to a creek. Who knows where the toads come from, but we have had at least one in our yard each summer for the past several summers and they seem to spend some of their day, at least, around the drain tube by the air conditioner. I guess they like that tiny mud pond that the drainage creates. :)

I'm laughing at the frogs with the little red shoes - - it's delightful.

I've never seen any frogs where I live (it must be too dry) but I've seen a few turtles. None of them were wearing shoes....

That is a cute little ditty. I hope you get tomatoes. I can not believe you are so warm already. It is 28 here on the first day of spring.

Now I ask you, are all Frog poems and songs sorta crazy?
You got "Froggy went a courting and he did ride, a sword and pistol by his side, uh huh!

I do love the frogs and red shoes...

Time to explore the poet within you...but be sure to wear your red shoes when you do!
