Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Susie Used Another Of Her Nine Lives
Our neighbors in back have a friendly (I thought) dog. It comes to our yard every chance it gets. They have a party supply and bouncy business. The tall plastic slides and jump toys they fill with air and rent out for parties. They have a privacy fence so when they are loading for a party they leave the gate open as they go in and out. Their dog uses this opportunity to sneak out when they aren't looking. I liked this dog and always took up for it when John would get angry it was in our yard. I guess I like it because it looks kind of unusual with a light grey color and large spots all over. It stands on very tall legs, looks like a small pony. Yesterday I stepped out the front door to hear and see the biggest commotion. Susie ran around the corner of the house with the neighbor dog in hot pursuit followed by a tiny furry companion dog. Buddy of the tall dog. The little dog was just running trying to keep up, but not barking or doing anything wrong. Next was the teenage neighbor, owner of the dogs yelling and screaming at the top of her voice. Susie ran up our tree just before the dog grabbed her, lost her balance and fell to the ground. When neighbor girl had distracted the dog enough that Susie ran to the shed behind John's carport and hid inside. I imediately went in and called her. She was hidden well and wouldn't come out so I went to the garage door and opened it making noise as the garage is her haven from the weather which she hates. She came running and dashed into the garage. She stayed in there about an hour until she regained her composure with me checking on her from time to time. She was lucky again. No scrapes or broken bones and didn't seem to be sore. Now I don't think the dog is friendly so I hope they keep it in their yard.

I'm so glad Susie is OK! Bad dog!
close one, for sure! i hate that. i dread when my dogs give chase after something - they lock in and they don't hear me screaming...
So glad Susie is safe!!! sandie
Thank goodness that mean old dog didn't get Susie and she escaped.
I love cats...have had one, two, or three at a time most of our marriage. Now we have three dogs. I understand both. Even very friendly dogs will give chase when something runs. My son was chased by a Huskie when he was 3....I was screaming for him to stop because I saw that the Huskie saw my son as something to run after, but my son didn't hear me and the dog attacked him, jumping on his back and making horrible, deep scratches down his back. He was traumatized from it. He was even afraid of our own dogs for quite some time.
Cats don't know that if they stopped and turned and stared down the dog, the dog will usually turn tail and go home. Sorry your kitty was traumatized, but maybe she learned a lesson.
I am so glad Susie is ok. They told me when I got Spunky that he didn't like cats, so I always hope a cat does not come in our yard. I think if a dog and cat are raised together it would be ok but then what will happen if a dog came along that did not get along with cats and the cat would probably get hurt or killed. I am so glad Susie is ok.
Yep, sometimes we must change our minds after being hit in the head with a good example. Glad Susie is okay. ((HUGS))'
Have a great Easter...
poor Susie :(
that dang dog would've torn her up
Do they make Kitty Ativan? Susie has had wayyyy too many scrapes for my liking. She is a real trooper. ~Mary
I'm glad Susie wasn't hurt.
