An Uninvited Visitor

This is Susie looking in the window and she is not the uninvited visitor. She lives here and has for many years, but she is getting very old. I think her bones or joints must hurt as she stays in the garage on a chair much of the time. Since she stays in the garage we have put a paint can under the door so she can go in and out if she wants to. In the middle of the night I could smell unpleasant odors in the area. Then it dawned on me if Susie can go in and out the door so can the skunk who is violating our air space. What a mess it would be if the skunk sprayed all inside the garage and the storage room in the back. So I closed Susie in and hoped the skunk wasn't already in. She was hunched up like she was cold so I put an old towel over her. This morning the towel was on the floor and she was on a different chair then the one she always sits or sleeps on. You might think why don't you buy her a bed. She has two nice beds. One closed in like a little house and one open and she will not get in either one. When I got up this morning the odor was all cleared out and no sign of the skunk.

Whoa, shutting the skunk in woulda been TERRIBLE! I cannot imagine starting to clean that garage is one let go big time.

Susie is probably starting to feel the results of age.

Keep an eye and nose out for those skunks! You certainly don't want them in the garage. Isn't that just like a cat ~ TexWisGirl nailed it right on the head - DIVA! No pleasing them :)

Skunks are bad news indeed and definitely uninvited guests.

I love the way you love Susie.

You sound as if you treat her like we treat our Cali....she has beds and houses, and still chooses to find a spot 'she' wants to sleep in, not the one we choose. So glad you didnt get 'skunked'!

That is a good thing the skunk and it's smell is gone.

I sort of figured that you'd buy Susie anything she wants, but that she has picky tastes.
