Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Dodging Frogs
We are having thunder storms every afternoon these days. Nice rain soaking in. Tonight we went to the Soil and Water Conservation Awards dinner. I guess John's name is grandfathered in from his days of farming and ranching on events. The video and speeches about the winners are interesting, not to mention the bar-be-que dinner was good. John won a door prize of jelly made from olive leaves. We've already tired it and it is so much better then the blueberries I tried today. Would you believe I had never had a blueberry in my house? Some time ago my doctor had told me how good for a person they are and then in reading that also I bought some. All they had was large containers. Would I open it up in the store and steal one to see if I liked them? Of course I wouldn't and of course I don't like them at all so I'm conning John into eating as many as I can. I also fixed a bag for a neighbor who used to bring us cookies before she started working. Anyway the streets were so wet frogs were jumping as we drove home.

Would have been neat to see wet frogs hopping all over the street.
I am not a big blueberry fan either, but do know they are good for you. Rain and more rain here too!
I like blueberries but haven't had very many since I left California (Calif. blueberries are really good).
I've never seen a frog in this area of Texas until a few days ago when we had a heavy rain. Suddenly there were some frogs in my back yard and the cats were chasing them all over.
I had to rescue the frogs!
I am not a blueberry fan but Sherry is. Now we have a friend who bakes a great wild blueberry pie.
The dinner sounded good!
What about frog legs? (Not the ones in tennis shoes now!) LOL
I love blueberries. Sorry you don't but you're putting them to good use.
Glad you had a nice dinner you didn't have to cook. :)
lucky you with the rains - and thanks for the visual of the frogs jumping. so rarely does it rain enough to get them to move across land. :)
i LOVE blueberries! love 'em in pie. love 'em raw. have a big container in my fridge now. :)
i liked your comment about reading comments at my blog about texas. :)
You had frogs jumping in the street??? Are you sure you were not seeing things? Texas is weird. I GOT ONE TOMATO PLANT YESTERDAY. iF i SEE ONE SQUIRREL LOOKING AT IT FROM A DISTANCE THAT SQUIRREL WILL BE GONE.
I would love to see those frogs and I would love to see you eat blueberries - they are so good for you! sandie
I grew up with blueberries. Sometimes I eat them in a bowl with sugar sprinkled on them. I also put them in pancakes and I make blueberry muffins. It is probably an acquired taste, kind of like Okra, which I'm not too fond of :)
I love blueberry muffins. I never at just a plain old blueberry, and now, after your review of blueberries, I never will. I trust your opinion that much.
and oooo, frogs! ach!
