Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Quiet On The Ranch Front
The turtles were hungry and swam fast across the stock tank when I called. Also feeding a few very small catfish lately. The cows were scattered all over and we didn't even find Josie or her mama number 12. John told me yesterday we're going to have to back off and let the mama raise her because she is beginning to act like a normal calf now. She has learned there is danger in that big old wide world and you have to be careful. She probably has been butted and pushed by some of the cows or calves. Yesterday when we called her and walked toward her she backed up instead of coming to us. That is the way the other calves do. They will look and listen but they aren't too trusting. The roadrunners were the only thing moving around and they were doing their usual thing of running up and down the little lanes on the place. Everytime I see them it makes me think of a deceased friend of mine. We belonged to a Widowed Persons Support Group and everyone nicknamed her "Roadrunner" because she was a person always on the go. When she passed on she was found in her car dead so I guess she died happy. Miss you Loraine.

Glad to hear Josie is getting by more on her own. that's a good thing, for sure.
Sometime it is good to have a quiet day. I like to hear about Josie.
Sweet memories also bring smiles.

I to like to hear about Josie. Guess I miss the farm, at times.
Glad she is learning independence, it sounds like she'll be okay. So sorry about your friend, she sounds like she was a lot of fun.
