Step On Me Once It's Your Fault, Step On Me Twice It's My Fault

The spot where the cow is standing is the spot I like to stand to feed the turtles. This morning several of the cows decided they wanted to walk into the water to drink there. The turtles must remember being stepped on because they dove into the water and swam as fast as the could toward the other side. I saw the smallest turtle I have ever seen there this morning. Still not as small as I want to see. We hadn't seen Josie or her Mom, Number 12, for two days so we were getting worried. We drove around with no luck until we went to the back forty and there they were. Just them and one black cow. On the way to the back we scared up one big turkey gobbler and one squirrel. We rarely see squirrels on this place. I guess there isn't enough to eat for them except when the acorns and mesquite beans are plentiful. The old gobbler was wound up. John said there was probably another one around and it was wanting to fight. We took a long route home through an area that is greener then the ranch and no traffic at all. My kind of roads.

People do not realize how much there is to see in the rural areas. We reared our 3 children on a 30 acre farm and it was the best thing we ever did. They still long to live in the country again.

Those are my kind of roads to. Glad you found Mama and Josie. It was so hot yesterday and pretty warm, today. Guess that summer is here.

We have never heard of a heat burst before. They got some new fangled state of the art forecasting equipment. But one thing for sure it got hot.

So glad you found Josie! I've been wondering about her. Poor turtles...I can just imagine them yelling run!

So glad Josie and her momma are still doing well. If I was a turtle, I'd be "hoofing" it, too, when I saw those cows coming my direction!
