Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

A Fire Waiting To Happen
I thought I should explain my new header photo. This is not this year's picture, but it does look like this some years. I think this was last year or the year before on a little road we were down for some reason. We've had some rain lately and it is much appreciated. Things are fairly green compared to what they could be. Can't you just imagine what would happen if someone threw a cigarette down on that little road or if lightening struck around there, or even exhaust from a vehicle can start a fire so easy when the grass is dry and crisp. I wanted to address the fact that Jack said in my last post he would like to have a roadrunner for a pet. It isn't so farfetched, as my uncle did have one he took on delivery calls when he drove a Butane truck. Sometime it would ride on his shoulder and look ahead as they drove. A reporter from one of the San Antonio news papers did an article on him and his roadrunner. I can just see Jack and Sherry traveling around the country side in their RV with a roadrunner sitting on the dash looking ahead at the beautiful scenery they see. It may need to have a little bed with some covers for the northern states because I'm not sure how well a roadrunner would fare where it's so cold.

cute story on the roadrunner pet! :)
i feel so sorry for the west this year and their fires and losses and drought.
Here in SoCal it has been so dry, hot and windy that I am so afraid that on July 4th someone will start a fire with their fireworks. Sure hope not.
In the picture, it does look dry and any little thing could set it on fire. I feel so sorry for the families of those that were lost in the horrible Arizona fires.
I feel bad about those fire fighter heroes too!
The earth in this picture looks scorched without the flames.
What a riot...a roadrunner for a pet! So much fun.
Sad in AZ. The fires a few yrs. back round Gorman,TX burned down a friend's house and thousands of acres around it. They rebuilt but not like the lovely place she lived in.
the grass in your header sure was a fire waiting to happen.
Mother Nature has her quirks.
Blessya Have a happy 4th
lol...hugs....I just love your stories. I can just see that road runner sitting on the man's shoulders looking at the road, asking, "Aren't we there YET?!" Then thinking, "I could have beat this truck there by two hours!" "beep! beep!"
