One Foot On Land And One Foot On Water
No I didn't do the split, I was just thinking. Thinking how cool and pleasant it was by the stock tank feeding the turtles with the early cool breeze. Thinking how I always wished we owned a week-end place on the water with a deck or pier out over the water where I could just sit and relax or read, think, or plan. I never was fond of boats of any kind but I like the water, frogs, turtles. quietness and anything else that goes with a body of water but I guess I want one foot on land and one on the water to feel safe. Before Mel died we were looking at a nice shady place in Castroville, Texas on the river. It was an acre with all utilities but no cabin. We could have built one. We looked at it several times but hadn't got together with the seller yet. It isn't realistic at this stage of my life but I still think about this item that could have been on my bucket list. Two of the Whistler ducks were at the tank but flew off when I slammed the truck door. I saw a young cottontail at the cow pens and it wasn't afraid of a cow walking it's way until the big bull started down the lane bellering, then it took off to hide in the cacti. We were able to see what we have wanted to see. Josie drinking water. John is filling a trough and she can walk right up to it and is just the righ height to put her head down and drink without having to go to the tank. We had a big discussion about her. Thinking what we might or might not have to do. I told John I wish I could just bring her to town and walk her down the street on a leash. Maybe a big pooper job? Well people walk their dogs and don't clean up after them. One neighbor had told me bring her to town and put her on John's vacant lot to eat all that green grass that he has to mow now. He may not be so amicable if Josie bellowed for her Mama all night and the neighbor had to get up and go to work the next morning which he does. If we let her stay at the ranch and grow into a cow would she know what to do if she had a baby like the other cows have instinct to do? I guess when the time comes the right answer will come to us.
