Bargain Breakfast

John likes to get goin' to the ranch and my medicine regimine kind of interfers. Have to take one pill and then wait for at least 30 minutes until I eat. One pill I can't take on an empy stomach so after the 30 minutes I can eat and then take the pill. Then of course there is more but it doesn't pertain to this. He ate cereal but I couldn't eat yet so we left and stopped at a fast food place to get me a cinnimon bon bon. They are too small for the price but I splurge once in a while. Often enough to know the exact price which is $2.15. Before we left the house I counted out $1.15 in change to get rid of some change and had a dollar bill in my hand with it. John can never communicate too well at the drive-thru but it's faster and as I said he is chomping at the bits to get on the road. He ordered one cinnimon roll and the young man answered something about 2 for $10.00. I knew he didn't understand and was referring to hambergers or something so I yelled from the passenger side  one cinnimon bon bon. Before the clerk turned the speaker off or what ever they do I'm sure I heard him say A-hole. When we drove around to pick up the order I handed John $1.15 in change and a dollar bill and he handed it to the clerk. Now where and when I went to school that adds up to $2.15 which is the price of one cinnimon bon bon. The young man came back with quite a bit of change and gave it to John. We looked at each other in puzzlement but he took the change and handed it to me. When he brought the cinnimon bon bon he handed John four quarters and some more small change and he handed it to me and we looked at each other. On the way out I told John I know how much those cost and I counted that money twice and it was the correct amount. Oh well! Maybe someday I will go back to get called an A-hole and get a cinnimon bon bon for a bargain, that is if that young man still has a job.

You know Pauline - I understand this. I can't tell you how my husband and I have gone thru the drive through and he doesn't communicate well - I talk for him - and kids don't know how to count anymore. We would be a pair!!!

Ah ha! an open mike, open mouth moment.
Seems it cost him or someone.

But Me & John are on the same wave length, Drive thru's are TABOO!

I'm still smiling, because I know if not for the comment, he would have had his money drawer in balance at the end of the shift. (smile)

lol. You are so funny. You came out ahead, didn't you? Love that story. That's what the kid gets for saying A-hole. lol

By the way, my hubby doesn't do well at drive thrus either. I usually have to swipe the card or tell the person the order. For some reason, they can't seem to understand my hubby, even though he speaks much better than I. :) And we go round and round.

That's a funny story. I always used to HATE going through the drive-thru. It unnerved me.
I finally got used to it and now I do it all the time, at McDonalds and Dairy Queen.

Well, you made a profit and had your roll also. That is a good way to start a DAY.

I love it Paula! I would normally have stopped and tried to correct the mistake even though it was in my favor, but in a case like this I think it all worked out just as it should have! My husband is drive thru impaired too - too funny!
