Big Boy just got a reprieve. He was born on the ranch and has fathered many calves but as in human life he is getting old. John bought two young black bulls and intended to sell Big Boy when the young ones were old enough to father calves. One of the young guys (calves) decided he was too big for his britches. He started going off alone to the east property and breaking out of the fence. This kind of behavior can teach the other cattle to get into mischief so guess where the young guy is today? He is at the auction barn and Big Boy is home where he stays like a good guy. John usually has two bulls on the ranch for it's size and the amount of cows he owns. I'm glad to see him stay. I'm not afraid to walk near him, even with red on.
