Different Strokes For Different Folks

This is a terrible picture, it was cloudy today and this is a one time use camera. Remember I wrote about this house I pass almost every day with cactus growing on the roof. I always wanted to stop and ask to take a picture of it. Today was the day I got my nerve up, not knowing what they would say. Yes or get off my property and don't come back. John stopped in front and I walked up the long drive-way. As I started to knock the door opened slightly and a lady peered out. I told her my name and where I live and I like to take odd country pictures and wondered if she would mind if I took one of her cactus growing on her house. She kind of grinned and said okay. As I snapped this picture she came down the sidewalk and handed me a calling card. Notary Public, Criminal Background Search (was that suppose to scare me or did I look like a candidate for her business), Errand Services, Resume Writing plus others. Then we got back to the cactus. She said it had been growing there for thirty years and when she had a roof put on she told them not to bother the cactus. Now I do like cactus as long as the thorns are pointing away from me but when it comes to the roof on my house. To each his own I guess Then she ask me if I knew what the white stuff is on it and I ask, mold? She said yes a parasite and when she has enough money she will have someone get up there and take the leaves off with the white stuff on them. Then she pointed out a tree with cactus growing in it and I said yes we have that at the ranch and I have pictures of those. I thanked her very much and nice to meet you from both of us. I'll stop back by to give her a copy even though I would think in thirty years she may have some pictures of it by now. I really don't think she will invite me in for coffee but who knows?

Stranger things have happened I suppose, I just can't think of any.

That's so interesting. Cactus and the woman.

That's a fascinating story. I've never heard of cactus growing from a roof before. The woman sounds a bit peculiar (but then, so am I.....)

Glad you got your nerve up to stop and ask. I don't know, I think if I had had cacti growing out of my roof for 30 years, I might just be like her and want it left there.

You do have an interesting life, Pauline. Your conversation with a lady with a cactus on her roof??? was that lady a little strange???
