Guess I Owe Mother Nature An Apology

It didn't rain here where we live yesterday and I complained after the lightening and the hope we had for rain, but as it turned out we did get a nice little shower at the ranch. If there is a hint that it has rained it is my job to watch for mud puddles in drive-ways as we drive down the farm-to-market road. John always gives me the important jobs. We couldn't have depended on John's rain gauge as it was upside down for some reason. There was actually water in the renter's gauge. Not a flood, but enough to say it rained. We drove all over looking for a cow that we felt has had a new calf. We didn't find either so the mama is probably with the baby and not ready to show it off just yet. I was disappointed the rabbit had not found the pellets I left and they were sopping wet. However I did see the rabbit under the old windmill so that's where I left some new pellets.

An important job, I seem to remember a poem. (smile)
Glad you got SOME rain anyway. It is neat to read about the games the new mamas play, and how they interact with the human types.
take care... Love from NC

There are few things I love as much as a warm country rain :)

Hope the shower of rain is just the beginning of more rain. I know you all need it out that way. I hope Mom and calf are doing fine when you find them. Have a great weekend, Sheila

Paula, You have got the biggest heart. When we brought Spunky home he looked like he didn't have a friend in the world. We just kept talking to him and petting him and now he is feeling better and spends more time with us. He is getting to old for more surgeries and we are to broke for more, so the big boy has to stay healthy.
