Just Country

John was up early this morning to meet cowboy Jack and his daughter to vaccinate the calves. Everyone got their shot except Number 12's baby. The mama decided she didn't want them messing with her baby so she led it off in the brush. This afternoon John's daughter had a tire shop from town come out to air up the tractor tires so they can move them. Had to replace a tire on the David Brown. Some things to do to the John Deere. They've been sitting a long time. This afternoon we went driving south in to ranch country looking for Bluebonnets to photograph to no avail except one big bouquet of weeds, a herd of deer, and a flock of wild turkeys. We saw a sign on a small ranch with the name of the old (91 years) cowboy who passed recently. I'm sure it was his place as he has a long unusual name. Looked kind of lonely in there. I know he loved his place and his cows. We'll have to go a different direction soon searching for some pretty big fields of wildflowers.

Wildflowers are beautiful to see. I'm surprised mama is being so protective of her little one. maybe you'll catch them next time.

A flock of wild turkeys? That sounds so neat! I've always wanted to see a wild turkey.

our bluebonnets are really late this year. i have plants that are growing all along the driveway but they've been frozen so many times, they're a bit stunted. :)

Go catch that young-un and give her the shot!!! LOL
Funny you are talking about sitting tractors. I just talked my son in starting one that has been sitting for 4 years. He got 'er running. I would sure like to have the David Brown...

It may not look much like it, but spring is here - the springtime "getting everything ready" business is at hand. There is beauty in that.
