Big Boy Has An Appointment

John lost a cow today and he is quite upset. She seemed in perfect health. So along with the cow hurt in the pens he thinks the big bull and the young bull are fighting over the ladies and knocking them to the ground or chasing them until they fall in a hole. We haven't seen them fighting but he knows what bulls are capable of. We traced the cowboy down to make an appointment for him to be hauled to market next week. The little homemade trailer is just too small for that big bull driving in highway traffic. Wait that doesn't sound right. Big bull doesn't know how to drive. Oh I bet you knew what I meant. Anyway the hurt cow in the pen isn't getting too much better so she will go to auction when her calf is weaned. Sounds cruel but that's ranch life. It's heating up out here, we went out in the afternoon so only the roadrunners were out. I left some cabbage for Hopper and sat on my branch over the water to feed the turtles. They were almost suspended vertical in the water begging. Hope that branch never gives way and dumps me in the water.

Sad for John, but like you sad, when you have livestock, things happen. Stay cool, but keep out of the water!

Sorry your cow was hurt and a nice visual came to mind of you on the branch feeding the turtles, lol. I stop for turtles to help them in the direction they were going. I enlisted the aid of the husband the last go round and this was a rather large sized turtle. Come to find out as he was trying to pick it up, it was a snapper and tried its best to get him, lol. We still managed to get him in a safe zone and away from traffic.

So sorry that you and John lost the cow. Did the bulls have something to do with it? Or is there any way of knowing?

Sorry to hear you lost a cow. Shame on that big bull for bullying them.

Love the humor...I can just picture a bull behind the steering wheel.

At least you have water on your property with a branch to sit on. All I have is a hot bench in the sun on the patio. I could go for feeding the turtles as you do. Sounds like a great life.
