Porch Sitting A Past Time Of The Past?

Porch sitters are people who like to think, some like to sip on a cold drink.

Some like to rock and chew their gum. My Dad was a porch sitter and so was my Mum.

Watching the world from an old porch swing, sitting and resting, the memories it can bring.

A breed from the past, porch sitters are. Dreaming, relaxing, observing from afar.

Opinions formed and decisions made. Sitting and rocking as plans were laid.

The cat was close watching the birds. Porch sitters, with neighbors shared a few words.

People don't take the time, life is fast. Pull up a chair, dream of the past.

When porch sitting was part of every day, as the sun sunk down casting a ray.

Flush the nerve pills, turn off the TV. Porch sitting is so relaxing, can't people see?

Nice!

I like to sit on my front porch, weather permitting. I wave to the people driving by. No porch swing, I have a glider... Would like a swing...

Here in East Texas whenever anyone came to visit in the summertime, the ladies would sit on the porch and shell peas or beans. Now we buy them at the farmers market already shelled! I actually still like to shell peas.

Kind of funny but I just posted on another blog about sitting on the front porch at my grandparents. Love porch sitting. In fact, I did it a bit this weekend on mine. I usually do the back porch though because it is screened.

You're a poet!!! I so like this!!

And I would love to have a porch and a porch swing.

The patio is our 'porch' these days.

I gotta tell you that is one beautiful picture in the header. LOVE the color..
There are things in life that bring pleasure like watching a water fall or a slow steam. Porch sitting is a big part of my youth, not much more pleasure that a porch swing and friends...

I don't think it's a thing of the past. I often tell Beate that I so look forward to us sitting on the porch someday whilst watching our kids and our pets play :)
