Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Did You Know? We Didn't Know.
I bet you all know. We don't get out much, so we didn't know. They make portable traffic lights. This morning we are sailing down the farm-to-market road and the traffic slows and then comes to a complete stop. I ask John do I see what I think I see? What do you see? A traffic light. A traffic light on a country road where there was never a traffic light. He says and it's red too, isn't it? Oh they are repairing or re- paving the terrible rough areas from the oil field traffic. Amazing, a vehicle with an arm sticking out over the road with a traffic light on it. There is one way traffic on the two lane road. The light did away with a lead car, a driver's salary, wear and tear on a truck, and gasoline. Wow how neat! Sure was surprising to run upon a traffic light out in the country though.

I find them to be an excellent idea. I've also noticed that around here the traffic division has a better handle on a number of things that smooth the summer traffic in this beachtown. I really appreciate their newfound command of logistics.
pretty cool!
Well, I have never seen one before, but I've heard of them...they use 'em here on the beach access roads during Spring Break I guess.
I've heard of portable toilets, but never portable traffic lights.....
I don't think I've ever seen one of those here in KY. Neato!
No, I haven't seen them in our travels. They must have some kind of monitor to know the last car thru. HA! I am always trying to figure someone else's job out. hahaha
But I can imagine the surprise...
I am with Jon. Never heard of them.It had to be a surprise.
I've seen them in construction zones. Kind of neat.
We've seen them use them in the Hill Country when they are working on a bridge or road in the area.
Same comment as Wendy. They have been around for quite a while now. Very handy!
